WTB - 1992 Legacy L 4-dr Quarter Panels ALL
Help - My 4-dr 1992 Legacy still runs well but is rusting out. Want to replace both front and rear passenger side quarter panels. Thanks much, Rochester, NY[/b]

I know you can get em, but they're not cheap... I asked the parts guy at subaru and dayyyuuuum...
Not cheap parts...
you might try certifit.com... They claim to have some panels.. and they've almost always a perfect fit. It's just some companies dont update their databases on the older stuff, even if they run out...
Otherwise, you might drop someone a bit of cash to go to ecology in SanDiego. A rust free fender in California isn't uncommon..
I used to pull all sorts of parts for people on the Celica and CelicaSupra cars.

No prob. ^^ I asked my fave bodyshop here in town what my options are and he said unless the panel is well damaged, a patch is the way to go..M A Purdum wrote:Dear Rally Guy - Thanks much for your reply and suggestion. It was really nice of you. FYI - I looked at my car and realized that I only need the two passenger side quarter panels, so that's at least a little better than all 4. Thank you again.

Unless the innner fender is rusted horribly, you wont need a bunch of repair.. the worst part is removing all the interior and making sure all electrical is out of the way when you weld in the new piece. The inner fenders repairs can be quite rough, since undercoating them covers anything that's not just a huge bend in the metal and honestly who sees that.
Now if you're doing the repair yourself *I can weld fine, but I'm not repairing mine... it's just easier to have a pro shop match the paint. I can weld it, but few shops like to put their work on top of someone elses... and it's just cheaper in the long run if they do the work and it'll be warrentied through them too.. ^^
atlest you're not trying to repair an old Merkur XR4Ti.. I used to have one and the front fenders are even welded on! hehe
best of luck,
Ken
