1998 Subaru Promotional video

This has some very, very cool stuff.

The first are English and German ads for Subaru with the 1998 models of the Legacy, Impreza and Forester spliced with WRC footage.

Second part is a long section in English and Japanese subtitles about Subaru and more interestingly the development of the first Subarus to the Legacy, with heavy emphasis on the development of the suspension and driving qualities of the first generation. More stuff about safety, the layout of the flat-engine/AWD benefits and pioneering AWD stuff, etc.

Third is a CG video talking about the engine, drivetrain, etc.

Fourth part is about the development of the then-new Forester.

Fifth is about the Forester's 24-hour speed record at Indianapolis, sometime in 97-98. Interesting because I didn't know about this.

It goes blue, so don't think it's over.

Sixth is coverage of the 98 Tour de Corse WRC round.

Seventh is coverage of te 98 Acropolis WRC round.

The video is an avi and weighs in at about 500MB. Please save it before viewing.

The .AVI index is jacked on this, but VLC fixed it.

Since linux isn't a video player what video player are you using to watch it? Once I fix teh AVI index it plays find for me on VLC.
