Run wastegate boost..... 9 psi. The turbo was the last mod you should have done though, not the first. I/C first, followed by exhaust, intake, MBC, FCD, Injectors and EM, then turbo. Then you need a built tranny, better clutch, brakes so you can stop all the power and suspension so you can turn, ect..

Honestly, I would not do a major turbo set-up on a stock NA block.the_watts10 wrote:no the turbo isnt on yet but i intend to buy an intercooler i have the fuel rail and still need the injectors but i have exhaust taken care of as well, and what are the intake upgrades your talking about? and yes its a stock 91 NA block
Take the time and read Reddevil's posts.
He has killed SO many blocks, his reads are worth the time.
If this block is stock, and NA as you posted, then a turbo is not just a bolt-on piece.
In fact, I would go over to the RS25 forum and read up on their turbo kits.
You might want to post more of what you have and where you are going.
Yes I have too many Subarus

Yeah, most RS-T setups are running between 4-6 psi I believe. A TD05 is going to run a minimum of 9 psi, probably not a good idea. Plus, the TD05 pushes a high amount of CFI. If anything, buy a VF11 that someone took off of their SS to upgrade to a 16G, and use that instead.
Or better yet, get an EJ22T and swap it in......

I could be wrong, but believe he is currently running 10psi (VF11) on the N/A block & has been for a little while now - non-intercooled apparently.
Stock 2.5l's can't hold boost.
My friend had a '05 2.5Rs with an AVO turbo kit & it lasted a few thousand miles before it died (when motor died the car had mileage in the low teens).
DV's old set-up looked to be N/A motor/ECU/injectors which is a little different than using a Turbo ECU/Injectors on a N/A motor.
I also remember the use of nitrous on those old motors.
Neither set-up will translate directly to this one, but I would not push boost levels too much.
Start Low (adapt the VF11 actuator for use on the TD05 - 5ish psi base boost) monitor EGTs / knock & move boost up slowly.
I have a feeling 8-10psi will be the max boost the motor will like before you have EGT or knock issues if the CR is high (intercooled & free flowing exhaust on the car (use BKR7E-11s gapped tight @ .028-.030" (I have a turbo 2.2e that was supposed to blow up 4 year back when I converted it-its still alive!)).
I believe the ej22e & ej22t have the same crank/rods with the difference between them being the CR of the cast pistons & the nice CLOSED deck on the ej22t.
