Transmission Install Drive Shaft (93 Legacy Manual)

Hello
After careful calibration I finally install the transmission. Bottom bolts are in the transmission holes and top bolts are in the engine. However I have no idea if the gears where the transmission meets the pressure plate to clutch to flywheel are lined up correctly. Will the drive shaft easily turn (by hand) after installing the transmission? I have the axles off so I don’t think it has anything to do with the emergency break. The driveshaft does not turn at all.

If the tranny is in gear then no it wont turn. However you could put a socket on the crank bolt and turn it then see if the output shaft of the trans moves.

I assume you used a clutch alignment tool?

Yes definitely used a clutch alignment tool, didn’t take any short cuts there.
After playing with it a bit more the shaft slightly turned. But wasn’t easy.

Tomorrow I’ll probably install the shifter assembly, this way I’ll know if the transmission is in gear or not.

So if the transmission is in neutral then the shaft should turn correct??

Well it should but why do you care to test that? If the transmission was not aligned properly you would not have been able to tighten the bolts on the bell housing.

There is a switch on the side of the trans that indicates neutral. Use that and you dont have to install the shift linkage.
