89 GL 2door 5spd - Should I buy???

Hey guys,

I've had my eyes on a local craigslist ad for a 89 GL. It's rough and cheap ($550) but I think it might make a fun offroad wheeler to take to the trails with.

My dad always gives me a hard time about my lowered AWD ride (he's got a 78 CJ7 with a springover conversion and 36" Superswampers).

I can just see removing the front fenders, spacing the strut towers for a redneck lift, welding panels to "fix" the rust, and beating it hard.
