abs pump bad maybe?
so guys i need to know something and that is sometimes in the morning if i mash the brakes to the floor my abs light comes on and the pump makes a wierd clicking noise, also when it does this not all of the time (only when i park with my wheels straight, not turned) it feels like my tranny is slipping almost like something is hitting the rear of my car really hard or maybe how a bad axle pops but what do you think the problem is?
ej22t hybrid, 3.5" downpipe, Gl turbo intake/desnorkel 9psi DEAD
You have a 4eat?
If so, I assume the TCU probably gets some of its info from all four ABS sensors at the wheels to control the center diff. I could be wrong, They could have simplified the system and just used two internal speed sensors in the tranny itself. If thats the case, you might be dealing with two seperate issues. (maybe someone with 4eat knowlage can chime in here)
Reguardless, both ABS and Tranny issues can be a hellova lot easier to diagnose if you can read data from the control units.
If the two systems are tied in, start with the wheel speed sensors. Very often metallic gunk will build up on them and throw off the readings. While your there, unplug em, and use an ohmeter on them. Im not sure what the correct ohms should be, but if youve got one way different from the rest, suspect it. Also if you have one all gunked up, banger! Easy fix, hopefully.
