I bought a turbo...

That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

I bought a turbo...

Post by Arctic Assassian »

So I purchased a turbo from a member. The pin that the wastegate actuator attaches to is bent from shipping, the front seal leaks, as evidenced by the backside of the compressor wheel. The wheel itself looks to be damaged by someone removing the compressor housing, because it is not uniform across all fins.

Anyone have a good lead on a compressor wheel for a TD05-16g? I'm thinking of replacing the seal myself, anyone done that before? On a side note, I am gonna replace the 2.2 with an 05 n/a 2.5 temporarily, running wastegate boost(11lbs) from a TD04L. Anyone see any problems?
Thanks

I've seen 18G & 20G compressor wheel & housing upgrade kits for sale in the past.

I was running WG boost on a TD04 on my SS & it was 8PSI with or without my FMIC which is what my TD05 is running on the actuator now.
The actuator arm on both turbos is adjustable so you may be able to tweak the boost levels some.
