injector upgrade?
my motor started skipping today, so I went through the wires and found the bad cylinder, wires good, plugs getting spark, so I think the injector is bad cuz when I diconnected it with the engine running, nothing happened- just still skipping/ sputtering. Can I upgrade to a bigger injector just like that? Bada-boom plug and play?

440cc EJ20G injectors. They have gray tops and come out of JDM WRX's and JDM Legacy RS'.
Those ones will plug right in and you won't have to mess with your ECU. You will probably run a little more rich since they're bigger injectors, though.

run rich? what would be the result of that? Is it worth it? Would I gain any horsepower, say if I did an exhaust, intercooler, or any other performance mods? what would be next on the order of modsafter injectors? Should I just stick with the factory injectors?

You can't just throw in larger injectors and expect the ECU to know what is going on as it thinks that the stock size is there. It can make up for a little bit, but not much.
Just throwing in larger injectors does not give you more horsepower. Power takes air + fuel. You are adding fuel, but no more air.
Do some searching and you'll find a ton of info.

The stock EJ22T 370cc pink tops are good up to fuel cut (12psi) at least. The stock EJ22T ECU will trim in the 440cc grey tops in closed loop idle and cruise, but open loop fueling will be quite rich. An injector change wuold not be my first upgrade.
