Painted the word "Legacy" into my TMIC

Post by smh0101 »

So i thought that the plain ol' IC was boring...

I figured it would be cool if it says "LEGACY" like the STi ones say, well, STi.

So I chose a font...

Printed it...

Cut out the word...

Painted it Royal Blue.

And came out with this!

The template curled so it spread... and I had to wipe around it with Goof Off Grafiti remover...

What do you guys think??

Pretty good idea, but I think Subaru in its true font would have been cooler. :P

Nice one!

Thanks!

What is the correct font?

I would have had I known what it was...

Dunno. -_-

I probably would have just blown up a Subaru or Legacy logo and cut that out. Might do this mod this summer. lol

I like the font, and it's a nice touch. Especially since it is under the hood so it's not so flashy and fits with the spirit of our car

I like it. At the same time gives off "Personalized" and yet looks professional.

I went to this website clickity and scrolled down to the Legacy logo. It's the actual font used for the Legacy emblems.

I copied the image and just stretched it by about 200% I think (it came out to about 15" wide and 3" tall) and then glued it to some thick project board (like the stuff you used back in 8th grade science class for gluing pictures of DNA to for projects haha). After the glue dried I cut out the letters using a razor blade.

Then I simply placed the cutout on the intercooler, taped it in place and around the edges to prevent overspray and then I just sprayed away. I had to cut out the little triangle for the 'A' and fold over some masking tape to get it to stay in place, but that was easy enough to do.

Copy the image, open it in paint and click on 'Image' and then 'Resize/Skew' and then do it by 200% vertically and horizontally. It worked for me...
