WRX turbo and turboback exhaust

Post by Subiepoo11 »

I have two questions. I have a 93 legacy turbo and I want to put a TD04 turbo in from a WRX, will that work and if so what will I need to do to make it work? Also I want to put in a turboback exhaust in and what exhaust would work for this car? :smt033

td04 as far as i know is Plug and play.

and exhaust from anything will work if you have the right bends, it might have to avoid some things... differential and such.

i have 06 STi Exhaust and it required very little work, just an extention.

Thanks for your advice. I'm still going to look into it more before I do these mods.

You need:

Way to overcome the different intake styles because WRXs and STis have an under the intake mani inlet... while Legacy Turbos have a 90* Elbow that comes up behing the runner.

Recommendation: 90* Silicone Elbow

And an Intercooler... the stock legacy turbo vf-11 has a 45* clocked outlet due to the lack of stock intercooler. The td04 has a 90* outlet. So you need an intercooler to mate to the turbo and the intercooler then mounts to the intake manifold.

Recommendation: 2006-2007 WRX TMIC (Or 2004+ Forester XT TMIC)

As for the exhaust... Use a WRX one... but it needs to be extended about 6 inches due to the extra length of the legacy.

And search is your friend.

I have a Saab intercooler on it and that works great. Would that still work?
