You`re almost there; it`s an MSD DIS-2 (the 4 series is for a 6 or 8 cyl with coil-on-plug ignition.) Otherwise, it sounds like you`ve got the good plan. Also, from what I understand, any late RS coil should work. Have fun---ROD (AZ.)

Josh- I`m running one heat range colder on my turbo engine from what was recommended when it was an NA motor due to increased cyl pressure/heat. If I had the factory set-up, I`d run what heat range was recommended in the owner`s manual. But, some techs have recommended the colder plugs with an upgraded ignition. You pays yo` money & you takes yo` chances!---ROD (AZ.)

I understand why you are runnin yours on your turbo colder, but what is the reasoning/theory behind runnin the colder plugs on just normal setup?

Thanks

Josh-sometimes with a capacitive discharge ignition the spark intensity & the multiple spark configuration create more possibility for detonation. That`s why alot of systems require a one-range-colder set-up to be safe. It`ll also depend on the altitude where you`re living, the average humidity & the average temperature. At approx. sea level, reasonable humidity & temperatures, the stock heat range would be just fine. Where I live (@ 5k feet) + the dry, warm air, it becomes necessary to run a colder plug; each case will be different, so experiment. Hope this helps.---ROD (AZ)

Everything is right there, with one note:

You don't need an RS coilpack, just one with a diamond emblem
or "Diamond" on it. This is what Kevin at JC told me.

My pack was taken off a 95-97 Legacy, and it works very well. It
seems that the ignition system was mildly upgraded in the 2G models.
