Thanks Daniel. The problem disappears when I dump the transmission into
neutral and slam on the brakes. so now I have to find some half-shafts
for the 93' touring wagon. has anyone else had this problem? I'm at
90,000 miles and this is the first drive train probem with the car.
What else should I expect to see in the future?
I'd like to get more performance from this car and I'm not sure where
to look into first with a turbocharged car, especiallyone with 90,000
miles on it.

This isn't your antilock brakes is it? They make a serious vibration when keeping the wheels from locking up when you slam on the brakes.....

No, the anti lock brakes will still shudder with the car in nuetral.
The feeling of ABS is not through the car but mainly felt in the
pedal.
