First off apologies if this isn't a tolerated thing to ask for...
I've read through a ton...but have some questions to a specific car i am looking at.
1994 legacy sport - they are asking 2450. 167,000 miles
After driving -
-needs a front strut
-air cond doesn't work
-no mess on or around engine...doesn't look wiped or like it had been a mess.
-transfer case (? under car...transmission related i think that is what the part is called ) anyway has fluid on it
-cvs clean and dry
shifts smooth. no problem putting car into gears.
no smoke, engine sound and runs smooth, good idle
they are moving, owe 2300 and won't go super low..
air should cost 500ish?
strut around 300?
i have been researching the 94s for a while now. i think they are a great car and solid. there are avalable parts etc.
i'd been pricing some hondas around 4000 all which have high mile (130000 plus) i think i'd rather put some money in to a legacy...
kbb good is 2600. fair is 2100...i think this one falls in to the fair category because of the strut and the air cond
...what sound should the turbo make? is it more of a whistle/whine or a fast fan sound?
i appreciate any words i can get and thank you all much for your time and knowledge.
i have never had a car younger than 1987, i have never had a fun, solid nice car. this would be the potential first.
my car is gone because it was totaled in a tornado. i am on a bit of a time crunch.
man i asked a lot of questions...
Need some help please (regarding potential 94 sport purchase

A/C and struts shouldnt cost That much.
you can get a good as new A/C compressor for under $100 on Ebay. I got both of my Gabriel rear struts off Ebay for $80, but i havent seen them on in a while.

1990 Legacy LS, 4EAT
1983 Peugeot 505S Turbo Diesel
1983 Peugeot 505S Turbo Diesel
thanks both of you.
got the vin and ran it.
had been in an accident.
i think there is more to the front end than a strut...i'll pass on this one. there was a support bar (adjustable) in the front (in engine compartment) i thought it was a race thing...i think it was a bandaid.
there is another sport nearby. i'll check the vin first this time.
thanks again! i may be back ...hopefully actually. i really liked the car....hopefully i can find one!

If you show your location you'll probably get some help from this forum.
