from the legacy user book it's recommended 10-30 or 10-40 for higher temp.

can i add something to the oil to make it more viscosity bcuz i just buy another 4 liter of 5-30 lol.

btw what are the worst thing that could happen? i mean could i bloe something should i add 10-30 what do you thing and this by assuming this what is causing the tic tic tic sound
In my legacy I have ran 5w-30 from 313,000km ago. Engine runs 0 issues at all. Car was used for many many of those KM on the highway 70mph aka 120km.h for long periods of time. Issue was with temp ranges. IMO synthetic #1. With synthetic the stuff doesn't break down. With my dads truck running synthetic always nice and clear at the oil change. With my car its pretty black never low though. I will go synthetic next oil change though I am pretty sure, just had a 4L jug of 5w-30 I got cheap so I didn't want it to go to waste :)

Here is what it states in the manual.

So realistically I should be using 10w-30. I did a vacuum test and read 22+ hg which is supposedly good and held it steady at idle and reving. Next time I do the spark plugs going to check compression.

exactly just after i turn the car off after a good ride i heard that
Guys, pay attention to this statement.

I realize you have changed to talking about the consequences of running 5-30, but I'd like to know what the ticking is as well. I doubt the ticking is related to him running the 5-30, and I highly doubt lifters click when the car is off.

Well I guess that would depend on whether or not you have a turbo timer! lol jk

If its after the car is off its just the exhaust settling...

More specifically the heat sheilds and stuff, they're different temperatures, and metal expands and contracts when heated and cooled... so they "click".

More like a "ting"...." ting"

right?

My car does it, my moms denali does it, my grandparent srt8 does it... etc.

When my car was younger I remember that sound! I believe after we removed the heat shields the noise went away.

ya i still say power sttering but if the car i off then the metal sounds good, but would you hear it RIGHT away?

the only reason this would not make sense to me is that w/ the hood latched and shut the temp inside teh ebay is going to drop relatively slow right?

of course if it Cooled too fast then maybe you would get cracks  not good..

also maybe the sound is suspension related?

if your pulling into a slanted driveway from a perfectly flat (lol never) road then the weight has to transfer, but i think it would be more sudden.

The tick he's talking about is when the car is turned off after a drive.

OK so now we understand it is a tic it makes when the car is shut off. I am pretty much set on the exhaust making the sound which is perfectly normal nothing to worry about.
