mechanic tried to put more freon in today but i was told that there was no circulation or pressure. he told me i need a new compressor.

what are the suggestions? if i get the new compressor, what else i should get?

i don't think it was ever functioning correctly. the mechanic was able to put freon in last time (6 months ago) but that's all he did. he didn't vacuum the original 18 year old oil and r12 freon.

Was the compressor spinning? Did you see the clutch on the front of the compressor spinning?
