flamed!? So far this is the only RWD drifting legacy I have ever heard of, I think that is awesome!

Don't get me wrong I love AWD but if you are actually going to drift your drift legacy and not just go to car shows and put bling rims on it then I say +1

haha, that is so awesome to see finally! I've always wanted to do that. Team Orange has a whole write up on how to do it. The only other one I know of is owned by Sybir. It is a Black 92 SS 5-speed I believe.

Very cool! PM me the details!

I have wondered about your ride and what it's been up to. There are many similarities between are cars like winestone and the Apexi intake that made me remeber your car.

Not as similar in my mind anymore though.

Props man. I have wondered about an RWD conversion and it looks hella fun. Maybe if I move to a climate that doesn't have 8 month winters I will do that one day. Or hell, maybe I'll have seperate summer and winter leggys!

I was RWD for quite some time. Absolute lack of traction is the only way to describe it. Of course, it's the only RWD car I've ever owned (except for my old truck). LOADS of fun. I had a PPG 1-4 Straight Cut synchro gearset with 1.1:1 transfer gears and a 3.90 rear end (4.29 final drive)!

I never broke it, but the guy I sold the car to went through like 5 rear diffs. Of course, I was RWD on 225/45/17 RE070's, he was RWD on 235/45/17 Proxes RA-1's.

That's pimp!
My buddy just parted with his custom turbo'd 1999 Impreza that he converted to RWD. Total tire frier!!! Next up is taking a '90-'94 and making it V8 powered with a Ford 302...

...and yes, I thought Phil was RWD for a short time on his car. So I was right! :-D

what rear diff did you have in it?
because when i was on the open 4.11 diff (2.5rs) it would just cook one tire off. then i took the diff apart to weld it and there was 9 spider teeth broken. (which was fine because i was welding it anyways)

The stock diff. It would peg-leg if you stood on the brakes and nailed the gas. But everything else seemed pretty even. There are STILL two, equal length black strips in front of my parents house that run through second gear the first day I got it back together.

I've never been so mechanically unsympathetic as I was when my Legacy was RWD. Constantly bouncing off the rev limiter, driving at over 3000 RPM EVERYWHERE, WOT as often as possible, smoking the tires at every given opportunity. I was on boost more often than I wasn't. With a built transmission, there wasn't anything I could do to hurt the tranny so I drove it like I just didn't care. I finally realized why people who drive RWD, love it.

I've contemplated, more than once, converting my Forester to RWD. Had I lowered it, I probably would run RWD in the summer months.
