I hope that my misguided advocacy of head swaps did not steer you wrong. So now where do we go?? I guess the new "Semi-Holy Grail" is modifications and porting of stock 22T heads

Hi Bill,

No, I do not feel you were misguided. The 2.5 heads are the Holy Grail right now as far as I can tell. And like the Holy Grail, they're not easy to get to. If you want the best flow, without concession to convenience, ease of installation, preparation, and all the other stuff. The late model 2.5 is the way to go. I just wasn't willing to slay all those dragons to get to the top. To satisfy my own curiosity, I intend to focus my research next on late model WRX heads. The engine is turbocharged from the factory so maybe there is a potential swap there. I have already received info that I want 98 Version 3 heads. Check it out;

Yes, the WRX Version 3 heads are what you want they use large buckets, so you have more flexibility with your cam profiles. Should be found in the 1998 year.
