rally is so beautiful

Post by SILINC3R »

rally has to be one of the most beautiful sights to see. it is the ultimate test of a driver and of a car. it is the only racing i like to watch. NASCAR, you go in a circle. F1 is cool but i will never drive one. Drifting is cool as well but its to safe. Drag racing is just who has the bigger engine and quickest response. Dirt track racing is like NASCAR and drifting combined. it gets close to rally but difenitly does not get the cake. please don't take offence i am just trying to share my love for the sport and of the ultimate driving machine.

Now rally has all of these. high speeds, drifting, and responsiveness. However it is all done on anything that a tire can rotate on. that is what all the other motorsports lack. is they are all on concrete. rally is like a ballet and every movement has to be precise yet at the same time it has to be lose in order to slide a car around a turn. drifting does some crazy things and at some high speeds but again it is on concrete. rallying is all about getting a car sideways on DIRT or even ICE and at an extreme rate of speed. that just insane.
you have to be constently aware. you have to multitask times over. listening to codriver, engine, surface you are driving on. you have to be able to adjust to any situation at the turn of a corner. sometimes this is even done at night. and i dont care if they have 20 lights that can turn night into day. you still cant see everything. what other racing sport can you hit a deer that just happens to be bounding across the road. Sorry BAMBI. another thing is you have to be able to get in the zone. nothing can make you lose concentration not even for a second. all the fans that are just inches to your front bumper as you slide past. you cant even look at the hot girl that is flashing you as you rush past her. it is just that demanding. and what other racing sport do you have jumps? if you did that in any other one you would go airborne. and i do understand that other racing sports are dangerous.
In Drag racing your car can become a rolling bomb. in F1 your car can become a missile. In NASCAR your right tire has to go out and you hit a wall at +175. however in rally all it takes is on lose shoulder and you go off and cliff or into the woods or into a crowd of people witch happens alot. and this all takes places at speeds in excess of 80 miles an hour for the most part.
i just thought i would share my join with you guys since we all love a car that has given its own in this sport. and even to a man who loved speed and passed away in the dumbest way possible. not even doing what he loved. the guy had many years to live and to give but its life and the greats always seem to leave before its time.
well heres a good video that got me on this wonderful tangent.
sorry this is so damn long. and if you read this thanks.
