Hoping some of you can give me some ideas before I have major issues here; but I feel something is on the way:
This is a cable clutch N/A 5MT.
My disengagement point on my clutch keeps dropping (closer to the firewall); I've adjusted it twice in as many weeks, the most recent event was this evening.
Here's the odd thing; I'm having to tighten the bolts down on the cable to take the slack out of the system.
One would think that, in the event of a wearing clutch disc I'd have to loosen the bolt, to bring the engagement point lower and keep the cable from pressing the pressure plate open all the time - but it's quite the opposite, much like my clutch disc is getting thicker!
I've looked at the cable, both ends; it doesn't appear that there's any streching going on with it; no undue stress. the pedal side of the cable has the lock nut crimped on in the right position and doesn't appear to have moved closer to the end of the cable (still about a quarter inch gap)
the clutch fork, however; is just about all that I can come up with that's giving me problems. I have a feeling I've bent the clutch fork.
At the top of the fork (outside of the bellhousing) everything appears normal, but as I look down into the access hole (the rubber boot there is gone) it appears that the fork curves right at the spot where it enters the bellhousing. I can't remember if this is normal or not, so maybe one of you can take a look at yours and tell me either way.
There's a crease down the center of the fork like it was pressed that way to prevent it from bending.
I, for obvious reasons; do not have visual access to the other end of the fork resting against the throwout bearing. I think that if this top bend is not the problem, then a bend where the throwout bearing rides the clutch fork would be the only other location.
This is all that I can come up with; does anyone else have some thoughts?
Of course this is probably going to go like my other threads where I get 400 views before one reply; but the quicker the answer the better, and any answer at all is much appreciated.

After adjustment last night and a short drive this morning; the engagement point has again fallen closer to the floor; there is again more slack at the top of the pedal travel.
I'm at a loss for what to do.

Ah!!! This was happening to me... i see you checked out the cable's crimp connector at the pedal. mine had been slipping and slipping, before my friction point was sitting at the firewall..... and the crimp connector had only slid about 1/4" down the cable (or up the cable)
I thought that the small distance travelled wouldnt have caused my problem...
i replaced my cable and all is well!

comprehension ftl.
I forgot...NA=pull type, turbo=push type
NA=push type.
pushing on my clutch pulls the clutch cable, pulls the clutch fork, pushes the throwout bearing into the pressure plate fingers, disengaging the clutch.
not that this means anything now; but I checked the little metal clamp on the end of the cable in the car - all is well, it hasn't moved.
I adjusted the clutch this past time to where it wasn't tight, but there was minimal travel. now I've got about an inch in play after two days driving it, maybe a little more - my engagement point is less than a half inch from the firewall.
Still trying to figure out what's going on, I have a feeling I've either bent the clutch fork, trashed and bent the throwout bearing, somehow ruined the fingers on the pressure plate, or (I guess this makes the most sense) bent the clutch pedal.
I guess nobody has really encountered this before. heh.
