FS: 1991 Legacy N/A Engine & Transmission (Auto)

Post by Soobster »

Today was a bad day for me and my favorite car. My Subaru was involved in a major side/rear accident and it is totaled. However, it still runs great, in fact, it still drives......barely. The right rear wheel has been pushed into the frame so it rubs violently. I'm afraid resuscitation is not an option this time, so I'm going to send her to the junk yard.

Before I do that, I wanted to see if there was anyone in the Bay Area or close by that would be interested in her as a parts car, or was interested in pulling the engine and/or the transmission.

The engine has 54,600 miles on it and I just replaced the throttle body and knock sensors with a brand new genuine Subaru parts ($700). The car runs great (this accident was really a shame)

The transmission is even newer, with only 23,000 miles. It is a brad new (Subaru re-manufactured) unit that was installed at the dealer. Automatic Trans.

Other parts of interest:

Front WRX brakes w/ Slotted Brembo rotors
New power steering rack w/ performance bushings (14,100 miles)
New KYB GR/2 Struts w/ STI group N strut mounts (6,164 miles)
New genuine Subaru Starter (5,700 miles)

Other parts that I have replaced on this car with new:
O2 Sensor (Subaru)
Radiator (aftermarket)
CV Joints (aftermarket)
Tie-Rod Ends (MOOG)
Ball Joints (MOOG)
Main drive-shaft (used but in great shape)
WRX wheels with mud/snow tires (three of them are still ok)

Besides that the car is pretty clean for it's age. All the glass except the rear passenger side pane made it through the accident untouched.

I really hope someone is interested in this one, it would be a shame to let it go to the junk yard with a new engine and transmission.

So, if you are interested in picking up my Subaru complete, I'm open to your offer.

If you are only interested in the engine or transmission:

$800 for the engine (take whatever you want when you pull, ECU, starter, I really don't care, whatever)

$1200 for the transmission (same deal, take whatever else you want, TCU, CV Joints, Struts, etc..)

The car is parked on a fairly quiet street here in SF, so pulling what you need should not be too difficult, plus I'm willing to help you out if need be. I'd really like to keep these parts from going to waste.

Feel free to email me at: craigmcollins@gmail.com

Take care with your Subarus guys and girls, they are great automobiles and I'm really sad that I lost mine today.

Peace.

car is Grey color.

Are you asking about the front light assy or the rear. The Right rear is completely smashed, but the front of the car is in great shape, so let me know, I'll pull parts for people for a while if you are reasonable with your requests. If you want/need pictures email me at the above address and I'll get you what you need. I'll also try and post some pics up here on the BBS if possible

Bump...Relocated to Portland OR

Post by Soobster »

Since my last post, I've moved to Portland OR and I decided to bring my wrecked Subaru with me to officially part it out.

Engine and Transmission are SOLD!!

I have another 2.2L Engine and 4AT Trans for sale, came out of my friends car that bought my newer engine and Trans. Both drive train components have 208,000 miles. Trans is fine, but engine needs valve work. MAKE AN OFFER!

Everything else is still for sale:
Front WRX brakes/Brembo rotors
Rear Legacy GT brakes/Brembo rotors
SS brake lines
KYB GR2 Struts (except rear right side)
All headlights, marker lights, taillights (except rear right)
Front fenders
All doors with power locks/windows (rear right has some damage)
Hood

Exterior color is gray, interior color is gray.

I'll ship anything that I can fit into a box.
