I'm seeing if I can repair the stock trans linkage for the 91 SS 5spd. My steel parts were in great shape, but the rubber was gone. So I put in a short shifter. I think I've found a process to convert it over to solid urethane. Maybe
I wont be "short shift" but I may be able to make the links have urethane bushings, definitely increasing the tightness! Also, I'm looking into rebuilding the bushing behind the shifter, I hope I can make one of those out of urethane too!
