The the stock scoop should actually take in less air since its being broken up by that vent. There is a solid inch and a half lip on the front of it. If you have a fmic it really doesn't matter.

Aside from my intercooler being much more effective, my coolant temps were much more stable.

i got you, so becuse more is comeing out in the front part the scoop sucks less. i wonder what would happen if the scoop was the other way. i wish subaru made a oem one, get to try diffrent set ups.

They did make a OEM scoop-less hood you can find & hack up pretty easily......
