headlights reinstall problem

how do i get those dang little springs behind the lamp hooked back on to the chassis lol there's gotta be a trick to it.

Are you talking about the little spring for the headlight housing that holds the bulb in place? If you look you can see where it needs to be pinched together.

that spring is fine. the one im talking about is a small spring that connects the rear exterior lamp to a piece of the chassis where the lamp sits.

Needle nose pliers and or a flat screwdriver between the coils near the hooked end you're trying to get on.

the nose pilers help but the springs arnt moving enough, i guess over the yrs theyve become hard. ill replace them with an other set

They're very tight springs. Another thing you can try may require you to re-aim the light after - try popping the horizontal (and maybe the vertical) aiming screw out of its pocket so you can push the headlight closer to the housing, reducing the distance you'll need to span with the spring. With the spring clipped in, you can then push the headlight back to where you can pop the aiming screw back into place since you'll have the leverage. If for some reason your aiming screw won't pop out of place to begin with or you can't manage to push the headlight back enough to get them back in against the spring tension, you might have to unscrew the aiming screw(s) a little. Then once you pop them in, you'll of course have to re-aim your lights.
