brake lights, horn, and AC blower not working

Post by achavers »

1993 Legacy L, and the above items do not work. Checked fuses, and all fuses are good. Checked power at the fuse box for the accessories listed above, and all have power. Found these connectors not connected under the dash, and cannot find where or what they plug into. One is a black plug mounted on the side of the console. Has about 8 or more mail pins in a 1.5 inch connector. The second is a yellowish plug with about eight female pins on a 3/4" connector, and a black connector with 6 female connectors in a 3/8" by 5/8" connector. That connector has two black wires coming from it with pins for another connector but are just bare. All of these are to the right of the steering wheel. Click the link below for a photo of the connectors in question.

Welcome,

Those are all diagnostic connectors.

The yellow one is for the subaru select monitor

the small black one is to test the auto seat belts

The big black connector is a check connector the factory uses.

As for your problem of the brake lights, horn & AC blower not working......It sounds like a fuse or a relay not working.

I'd recommend checking out the wiring diagrams in this thread I posted and try and trace what those things have in common.
