much noticed improvement after vacuum line replacing

Post by RJ93SS »

i did my td04 and 06 ic last weekend, also added a boost gauge. my boost gauge, which is probably really cheap, was going awol at boost bouncing from 5-10 psi at full throttle. i just didnt have a good feeling knowing that all the lines were stock from bpv to boost solenoid ect. ect. so i went to lordco and picked up a bunch of vacuum line and replaced pretty much everything except the line with the restrictor in it. i zapped strapped everything as tight as possible, and they do really hold well and then i took it for a drive. my gauge still bounces but only from 8-9 psiinstead of 5-10. boost comes on way nicer and it feels like it really is boosting, kinda reminded me of the 05 leggy gt i drove. idle is smoother, the exhaust tone is sweeter and i am defintely happy with the results.

If you have a leak, then you lose air that the computer thinks is making it to the engine so the a/f ratios tend to be off a bit. That's why it runs better when you have everything sealed nice.

Okay..please define 'zapped strapped'. I googled here (nada) and the web and got one site that had a virus, and when I searched images...well, suffice it to say I'm a little less naive then I was 5 mins ago.
Thanks

Oh thank you for that! The "a little less naive" part was priceless. Of course I had to google it myslef. Aparently I am not so naive. :smt095
