Noisey mirrors!!!!!!

Anyone know why there is an annoying whistle coming from the front
corner of the window when travel at high speed, is it the mirrors?
It seems to come from the mirror assembly or very close to it. Maybe
leaky moulding around the windows. I have tested it out by stuffing
sound foam in the window seals in the corner but it doesnt seem to be
the problem, so it must be the mirrors.
I have been told that this is a common problem with our cars. Any
ideas???

Yes. It's the mirrors. Mine does it too. The fix I intend to employ involves
removing them altogether, I'm holding off on all car projects at the moment
because we are trying to buy a house... Priorities - Damn! I'm growing up...

yes the 'whistle' does come from the mirrors. Both my previous subies
did it. To fix it i simply took good hold of the mirror assembly and
the area around it and lifted it up and in, need to do this with the
door open. This will bend the framework holding the mirror in a
little which will tighten the seal against the car.

Thanks Rod! I also thought the "whistle" came from a poor fit at the
windows or doors as the body for my Imprezza\turbo Legacy was
purchased for $600 and had been hit very hard and was wondering about
my decision to fix the car but your mirror fix cured it! Whistle free
now
