One of my front CV joints broke last weekend and so
was driving around with 3wd. Anyone have any ideas on
if i did some damage to the limited slip driving it
around like that for a few days?

Hard to say, but i kinda doubt it.
Was it on the front or rear axle? Are you sure you have rear LSD?

I can't believe that I'm a subscriber to a bulletin board where guys are openly discussing buying and selling LSD. I thought this was supposed to be a bulletin board for Subaru Legacy Turbo performance buffs, not some damned stoned hippie drug dealers.
On another subject, The various Impreza bulletin bulletin boards have a number of entries stating that WRX WJ20T head or DOHC 98 RS heads or 99+ SOHC quad valve heads will alll fit the EJ22T, if you use the right gasket and o-ring the deck and head. They act as though it is easy.
Okay, Mr. Witherspoon I would like to retract my query about the "ultimate" heads and respectfully submit the following:
Whereas it would be dumb to dump $5,000 into the engoine of a car that would be worth about $5,000 when I'm done, I have no interest in racing pistons, bigger injectors, aftermarket ECU, new intake manifold or anything else that is insanely expensive. On the other hand, if my car needed any kind of head work, it would sure be swell to have a plan in advance that would provide the best bang for the buck in modifying my existing heads to a performance level comparable to stock USA WRX heads. Any suggestions?
I put about 150 miles on a new WRX today and I don't think it was much quicker than my 92 Legacy Turbo with 150k hard miles. I have new inspiration to push mine a little farther.

Bill,
I will second your feelings about the new WRX. It REALLY is not that quick....it's probably only gettin 190 or so to the wheels. The turbo legacies are a bigger motor, so they probably have better torque, so it will feel quicker despite the HP ratings. I definitely agree with ya to put some more time/money into the legacy. When I'm done tweakin my legacy, it "should" blow away a stock WRX.....should is the key word there....but we'll wait and see until everything is done.
and where can I get some LSD

Really interesting note.
Pat R told me that when they (Subaru) pulled of the cats on the WRX there was a HUGE difference in power. 3 cats really restict the power on the new WRX. He just had a silly grin on his face after the ride.

When i talked to some mechanics at Prodrive, they said when you pull all 3
cats off the WRX, you gain 30 hp.
Of course, like i said earlier, it all matters WHERE you mount your cats. I
have one duct-taped to my trunk, it doesn't mind the wind so much as the
rain and snow. But i'm guessing that easily added 10 hp after i removed it
from underneith my car. My other cat i keep in the car for company on long
road trips.
