so my birthday is coming up, my dad and my mom are givin me some cash for the wrecker and i have already spotted some mouldy black leather front and rear seats out of a 00 or 01 legacy gt non turbo, i did not check if they were heated but they are power. so to you electrical guys i am wondering; i assume theyre will be a power wire for accessory, constant, and another ground or whatever im not sure, what should my wiring setup look like?
do i need to plug in to the fuse box?

It depends if the seats have different heat settings.
I've got the FSM for the 00 legacy and can probably look in there at how they're wired once you get the seats.

I have to get the seat heaters on my seats working too.
I basically took the Leather seats from a '98 Legacy Outback & slapped them in my '99 Impreza OBS. Now I want to get the seat heaters working before winter hits.
I checked the fit of the back seat by pulling it out of the OB & placing it in an Impreza wagon, you may be able to check door-card fit by doing the same thing (out of the new leggy & into an old one).
Update the post if/when you figure out the wiring.

okay so this is the deal, the seats i got are actually out of a 2000 leg gt, not a 99 like i posted earlier. let's start with the backs. the backrest part of the backseat does not line up at all, but it is in there. there is two litlle hooks at the top of the seat that slide into two hooks on the body of the car, with some slight bending i made those work. there is 3 brackets on the bottom for the bolts, all of them are off by and inch or two, no biggie, im going to weld on little plates to secure them down. as for the bottom of the back seat there is two little u hooks for the bolts to go through, they do line up but are to short to reach the holes so i am going to cut them and weld the stock ones on because they are longer. they do look great and fit very well, a little tight where the seatbelt is but nothing of an annoyance.
on to the fronts, i put them in, they didn't fit either, shit...
the next day i went back to look at them to see what kind of bracket i was going to have to make... did i mention the stock seatbelt on the 00 seats was bolted to the seat and not the frame like our stockers...hold on...oh so they did this on purpose so that when i went to install my 00 seats it does line up perfect because i just unbolt the stock seatbelt and use that hole for the seats. wow i was stoked. except the stock belt does not click in to the new buckle. what ever no big deal, i will just bolt in the stock seatbelt in it's stock location with the new seat.
i should mention i have not done the driver side yet because i wanted to figure out the power for it first.
so on to that, i ripped out most of the wiring for the seats too. the passenger side just has one clip for the heat. the driver side has three clips. one is for the stock 00 seatbelt, one for the heater, and one for the power seats.
the power seats only has two wires, a power and a ground, my question for this is can i just hook it up strait to my battery???
the heat after the switches has two grounds and three other wires that i have no clue what to do with, but a guy at my work is looking at josh's diagream to see if he can figure it out.
i'll update asap

Probably, I'll have to check when I get home. I'm out of town until Saturday evening. Shoot me an email on Saturday as a reminder.

well there in, and look very nice, it's amazing how stock they look, no heat yet, just power, i tapped into a fulltime power in the ignition and ran a 20 amp inline fuse and so far so good. as far as heat i want that done properly. only shitty part is that i added at least 60 70 lbs to the ride.

I added heated leather to my 97. If you grabbed the harness for the heater switches, it's easy.
Leave the harness from the switches to the seats intact.
I forget the colors, but each switch has a grd, +12v (switched), and two wires for the lights.
Run a fused +12v from the cig lighter to supply power to the switches. And extend the light wires up into the set of light wires on the shifter console.
If you're still not sure, I can pull the console apart this weekend when I get home and help you out a little bit more.

that would be killer, i have the wiring from the harness on the seat to the switches and then a couple feet from there. how long have you been running like this?
