Noob question.

Post by Azuken »

So i just got my first Legacy, and I know absolutely nothing about the differnt models. So just a quick question.

My legacy is a '92 Subaru Legacy L Sedan. Is that the same as the Sports Sedan (Someone told me they are the same)? Also does anyone have a website that tells the difference between all the legacy's?

go here:

http://legacycentral.org/library.htm

and look on the right side for much info on these vehicles.

i also had to search my downloads to get this address for you:

http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_archive.html

you will find a list of all models and options by year.

this is what you needed.

good luck with your new 92 L.

I have mucho respect for all ej22's. (engine code for your car)
Quite possibly my favorite engine, and it is a good engine to learn on.
There aren't too many mistakes you can make with it that would truly ruin it.
They take a lot of abuse, but they also work a hell of a lot better when you maintain them.

The Legacy in the book, Midnight In A Perfect World, is an L wagon, albeit modified.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

L's can be either FWD or AWD. AWDs have a badge on the trunk saying so.

But the surefire way is to peek under the car and see if it has the rear differential. It's really obvious and can be even be spotted under other Subarus whilst driving.

Not really most subaru's you can't even see the differential or cv's from the rear. It's awesome! I hate cars where it shows off there thing cv's and tiny rear diff. Atleast these cars have nice thick shafts and a big diff.

They are pretty visible on Foresters, due to the height.

or look under the hood and you will see on the pass. firewall the fuse override.

or look at the door sticker.

or punch it and see if only the front wells pull.

it is a real easy thing to figure out.
