Need Factory Stereo - mines dying
Hey, anyone have a factory am/Fm cassette player for a 1st Gen, preferably also with the factory CD player?
Mine started dropping the left cahnnel, and I've about beat the crud out of it keeping it going until now, but my hand is sore and the volume knob feels like it's about to fall out now.
HELP!!!

Hey tahiti350, I have a stock stereo from a '92 Legacy that I am parting with soon. It has a cassette player, but unfortunately no CD!
I am waiting for an amp wiring kit before I install my new deck, it should arrive within a week or two.
You're welcome to have my deck if you can wait a couple weeks!

Skip the old ones and proceed directly to 02+ WRX AM/FM/Cass 6-disc changer.

You need a $12 pigtail to install these in our cars.

Dam, I past on a 6 disc deck a while back because I heard there were wiring issues to overcome. Oh well, I'm working part time in a wrecking yard now, I'll just watch for one to come thru....
Thanks Jamal (and anyone else who helped figure all this out).

I have the OEM am/fm cassette no-cd. It's out of my old '92 ss. It's just collecting dust so, I'll let it go cheap. PM me if interested....

Thanks to all who have replied. Armed with more info (I'm dangerous now!!) I have decided to go with a CD player, either Subie 6 disc, factory head unit/CD set up, or just throw in a pull out aftermarket unit from the wrecking yard. I've pm'd those with CD players for info on what they have.
I don't want to spend a lot of money as the car isn't worth it, but it's annoying listening to half the music on the way to work.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across in an uncomplimentary way. I guess I have a different sense of humor and I was just expressing it -- it was funny to me to see all the offers coming in, like a reverse auction or something.
But's that one HUGE reason why I like legacycentral, there are so many guys ready and willing to help one another.
Anyway, I'm sending a PM.

I'm just used to the other forums I'm on, and have gotten used to the snipers.
BTW, Looks like 93 Leg-c got the winning offer, Thanks again everyone. Hopefully there's others out there looking for decks/cd players also, and all of them find good homes.
Hmmm... reverse auctions, interesting idea. Ebay based on the buyer rather than the seller....

yep, but it appears to be "sold". He offered it to me also, but it's missing 2 importand options... CD player and the Aux input jack. I either need CD or Ipod capability...
Free is good, and I could have gone that way for now, but would have to pay shipping and then still find another one for the cd/Aux capabilities.
