92 TURBO 5 SPEED

Post by vtxrider »

I just bought a maroon 92 turbo 5 speed to go along with my maroon 94 turbo 5 speed. I paid 500 bucks for the car but i does have a lot of miles (232,000) and has a few dents bu no rust out. The owner thought that it needed a new water pump and while you where doing a new timing belt. It turned out to be the top hose of the small hoses coming off the water pump. I replaced both hoses and the leak was gone. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets now because it was leaking oil onto the exhaust and stinking up the place. The car has relatively new tires and a recent clutch.

The problem I am having with the car is that with wot the car hesitates then goes and then hesitates until the rpms are upto about 5000. At 3/4 throttle the car runs strong. I haven't really drove this car much seeing that I just bought it and haven't licensed it yet maybe 40 - 50 miles. Any sugggestions are appreciated.

This car is going to make a good comuter and only 500 bucks.

I'd start with your basic tune-up stuff, plugs, wires, filters, etc.

Hey Josh, Put new plugs and wires on runs like a champ now. The plugs were definetly bad electrode was worn and had a gap of about .070. Had it emissioned tested and it passed no problem. Now debating wheather to fix the dents and paint it or not. I'm not into it a lot so I could spend the extra money and make her look good. The next thing though is a clutch in the '94.
