Exterior body styling

Post by WNTNaSUBIE »

Not looking for body kits, but some slight aero "enhancements". Mainly front end splitters, etc. Car will be set up for time attack/street use. (93-94 model years) Anyone know some companies out there? Or am I on my own here to make custom stuff? :?

Customize or get on an Austrailian forum in which case shipping will cost more than your subie and mazda combined! Not much available at all. You could cut down a Impreza piece to fit maybe?

The 'ol garage door sealer front lip works pretty well as far as aesthetics go. Not sure if it would really improve the downforce/aero of a racecar though.
I have heard/seen people using siding material for front lips. That would be pretty rigid.

maybe make a block off plate for the grill and pull the cooling air from off the splitter? Thatr would help get the aitr over the car, instead of thru the grill., some sort of extractor in the fenders would help that effort also, think Trans Am.

Thanks guys, I pretty much figured I was on my own. Any OEM bumpers from other models that will fit with minor modification that might get better air flow?

Will probably end up making my own splitter out of ABS plastic sheets from Home Depot. :D

I blocked off a grill like the 100,000 km record setting cars, but haven't put it on yet. They did it for the apeed and aerodynamics. I like those aspects and it should help the mileage as well. I also made a cooling plate and blocked off the upper sides of the radiator so any air that enters has to go through the radiator. I was considering making some of the cooling plates to sell if people were interested. Right now I have no idea how much they would be though. I will have Josh post a pic that I sent him.

There is a lip and side skirts available for the face lift cars. I looked for the info, but couldn't find it. The stuff was pretty pricey though, like $400 for the lip and the same for the skirts. I have posted about it before with the company name. A search might come up with it.

I found the info on the airdam and skirts. The name of the company is Versus Motorsports. Their number is 310-885-5788. The manufacture is Chargespeed.

thanks for that info. It's still listed on their website, but only for the wagon. I'm assuming it'll fit the sedan as well?
