Nice picture. Looks a pretty nice venue.
Auto-X is hard on tires, but it could be worse. Right now I'm running a VERY non-race tire. I'm running Yokohama Avid TRZ's all-seasons. They're an 80k mile, warrentied, tire with a 700 treadwear rating. Not really sticky.... But, I've been running the same tires since last winter and have ample tread to run this winter too though I am considering a snow tire if money allows. I went with this tire because I run it on my OBW and have been pleased with it's all-season and off-road performance. Plus this way I stepped into driving the SS and feeling out the suspension knowing how the tire reacts/lets go/catches since I've driven it on the OBW for 3 years. But I will upgrade next year. The sidewalls are horrendously soft for race use, you can see see the front tires just rolling over onto the sidewalls in some of the close up pictures. Needless to say, I've worn the corners of the blocks down a bit

- which is why I'm thinking I may get a designated snow and move this set to the OBW.
But again, I've got all season racing, probably a solid 60+ runs on them and there's still plenty of tread left. So... it's a trade off.
As far as pressures, I run around 33psi all around. Any higher and I seemed to lose time and any lower I wasn't comfortable with the sidewall flex. I've got equal spring rates front and rear and would prefere to keep my rotational handling a function of my sway bars only.
It's interesting to hear you comment on the General's. Those were actually an option I was entertaining for next year as I want to keep running in the Street Tire class. Maybe I'll keep looking though.
And thanks for the link on the magnets. I'll think about it but I kinda like having the big painted numbers on the car - makes it real easy for the course workers when I do get a cone. Plus it makes me feel 'cool' driving home with them on the car
