Turbo timer
When ordering a turbo timer, which harness is the prefered harness to get for a 94 Leggy with 2.2T? I am looking at the Apexi, but the harnesses offered are for WRX's, and STi's, and the newer Leggys. Any help is appreciated.

well you don't need one..... and you won't find one that matches our old legacy, as far as I know. Installing a turbo timer is the same for all vehicles. Just follow the directions, they will tell you where to put the wires. I love mine for warm ups

Just checked.
The ignition connector on my '93 Legacy SS matches the one on a '93 JDM GF8 WRX. They match in both physical shape and wire colors. My ignition switch from the Legacy will plug into the WRX harness with no problems.
Therfore I can say with confidence that a turbo-timer harness from a JDM '93 WRX will perfectly usable on a Legacy SS. Now, finding such a harness is up to you......

Your water cooled turbo with the coolant expansion tank keeps coolant circulating through your turbo even when you engine is off. If for some odd reason you need to shut it down right after doing extended full boost pulls, I think you can wait a minute or two idling, unless you are that impatient.
Save your money for something that might actually help your car. If you don't believe me, search NASIOC about turbo timers.

Because you have a subaru engine, with a cooling system that is specifically designed to maximize turbo cooling after the engine is shut off.iluvdrt wrote:What makes you think I dont need one?sublunacy wrote:well you don't need one..... and you won't find one that matches our old legacy, as far as I know. The turbo does not have coolant lines (not hooked up). I am not a noob. The car has a fully built engine in it, I installed and built (with the exception of the short block). So that being said I know I need one unless I want my turbo to bake the oil in its bearing.
I dont trust NASIOC for almost anything. There are a lot of idiots there who know a lot about nothing.
PhyrraM, Thanks for the help. Ill look into it.
