How does the suba sound with an open element air
intake? I know when I had it on my 240 the sound was
amazing…
How was the JC sports turbo intake setup? Was the
element in the fender or out in the open under the
hood? Where there any tests done with it? Any
impressions or numbers on it? Any problems with MAFs?

Well I have a N/A engine. The intake is MEAN sounding!!! it really sounds good.
I don't know how the JC Sports setup is.
I did have a MAF sensor problem.....I was one of the first ones I know of that started having issues and was able to trouble shoot my problem and what not.
I had an intermittent loss of engine power for about a year. It was not bad during the winter...but during the summer the car would just die. It finally left a code to confirm my suspicion......I was not goin to replace a $300 part on a whim.
I have since then added some extra bracing to my setup to help with vibrations. Two main things kill the MAF sensors....vibrations and over oiling the filters.....both of those scenarios are possible. I am looking to do some modifyin to the stock box....add some extra piping to the bottom of the box to help get some more volume into the stock intake box, and combine that with a K&N drop in.....it should help flow more air then stock setup.....but still prob not as much as open filter. There however is a benefit with the box.....some have noticed a bogging effect, hesitation, loss of mid range power with the cone filters. It's been a while since I've had the stock one on.....so I'd like to do some comparing.
