Stage 4 clutch question

Post by screemingbark »

I have another question. I was thinking of buying a stage 4 six puck double sprung ceramic clutch kit from CompetitionClutch.com and was wondering if that would tear up the gears in my stock 5MT? My car has 209k on it. If that's the case, I plan on getting the stage 2 carbon/kevlar clutch. I plan on doing many upgrades to this car over time.

if you shift easy. as in not dumping the cluch. you'll be just fine. im running a six puck sprung disc with a Heavy duty pressure plate on a n/a 5sp. works just fine. just dont dump the clutch cause yes. you will break some stuff.

That's what I was thinking. Are you building a monster?

As of right now, i'm rebuilding a stock car, but.....(lol) I do have a few 455cui Buick motors and an uncle that is an engineer for GM. I was just kinda curious about whether a stage 4 was too much for the car and to see what input I would receive.
