Which wire on the TCU is for duty solenoid C ?

Post by ericem »

Hi, I am looking for a pinout of the TCU connector. Trying to find the duty solenoid wire, I want to watch is there is voltage being passed through all the time even while the wheels are spinning per say. I guess I could test the AWD by simply putting a switch so that there is no power, and it SHOULD technically lock up. If not I guess it is indeed the clutch or duty solenoid. Just figure I can test this, then if it seems to work without a awd delay, then I will try a different tcu. Thanks.

Question though, for page 2, under fwd switch, it says with fuse installed votage is less then 1. Without it installed 10-14v? Shouldn't it be opposite?

i think there is a misprint on there, i think it should be opposite too.

i did the same thing as you, intercepted the wire from the tcu and measured the voltage while i drove around, i think the wire was white with a black strip..

Did you find the voltage going to like 0-1v when the wheels were slipping?

I took out the TCU, want to open it up and clean up any dust that might be in it.

Is this the correct TCU?

Well looked on the internet at this part number on the TCM

31711aa822

Says its for a 91 on the one site that shows up. The dealer ships I called have part numbers that are 31711acXXX not aa. So I think this is definitely the wrong tcu which was to begin with the problems as to why it drives the way it did after the tranny rebuild.

Grr bad news. TCM is fine. Voltage drops to 0.1-0.5v before I can even tell the wheels are spinning. Dammit really was hoping it was the TCM since I can definitely swap that out easily compared to dropping the rear end of the tranny in -10.
