Sutong tires

Anyone know anything or have any experience with Sutong tires?

They're a Chinese tire, made I guess for some medium-duty trucks. That's all the info I can get on them; I can't find any ratings for them or anything.

A little background info: My Sprinter van at work needs tires, and I got Continental Vanco 4 Season tires for it, like the ones already on it now.

I'm catching a lot of flak for it because those Contis are $112 apiece, and my van needs six of them.

The Sutongs are half the price, but I don't know anything about them, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna be going down the highway and have one of these Chinese tires blow out on me and flip me over.

What I'm essentially looking for is evidence to justify my decision to get the Contis.

Anyone? TIA!

If something happens to the Contis, they will stand behind them, most likely no questions asked.

I doubt a chinese 'start-up' will do the same.

I, personally, wouldn't trust the one of the most important parts of a commercial vehicle to a company I can't even find a review on.

Don't look back, don't second guess.

There's probably better cheap tires out there. Look at Sumitomo. I wouldn't trust a tire that sounds like a Chinese buffet.

Well, don't forget that this isn't a car. This is a Sprinter 3500 1-ton dually van... which is essentially a work van similar to a Ford Econoline or a Chevy Express, but bigger.

So there aren't near as many tire options as there are for passenger cars...

... by that I mean, my choices were either the Sutongs or the Contis.

Not to worry though. I had the Contis installed today. Thus, it's a done deal. I won

smite those that frown upon spending sizable amounts of money on quality parts.

My girlfriend bought a set of 4 tires from walmart (even though I advised against it) and eventually all 4 ha blow outs. Not at the same time of course but with fairly even intervals.

Then she went and bought a kia, now the check engine light come son every month or so and its a 2005. She never listens to me!

Good move! The company's stupid for trusting a $30k+ truck and insurance rates to save a few bucks on tires (not to mention your life, but I always work on the assumption that businesses don't care). As Imprezive brought up with the WalMart specials—the cheap ass tires won't likely last as long or take a curb or pothole strike even if they don't just spontaneously blow out due to defect. Plus there's that less money will be going to China.

Well if Chinese car quality is any indication, Chinese tires are probably just as disposable.
