My 91 Galant VR4, 90 Eclipse GSX, and other cars...had/have

Post by ou812 »

I have had three Galant VR4s in the past 7 or 8 years. I still have one, a white 91, with about 175k on it. I also have had an Eclipse GSX about ten years, along with numerous other dsms.....some pics....comments?

Early 90's Japanese metal... hell yeah.

You're a lucky man... you say you've owned three VR4's? I was under the impression those were much more rare than our T-Legs!

Yes, the Galants are rare in the US.....only 2000 were imported for 1991, and 1000 in 1992. Having 3 is pretty good....that, and Klamath Falls used to have about 10 running around, which was a very high concentration, especially for never having a Mitsubishi dealership!

I love early 90s Japanese turbo stuff.....still my favorite cars...

Yes, the z32 (90-96 300zx) will always be one of my favorites.....way better to me than its predecessor and successor (300zx and 350z, and even the 370z or new GT-R)...

I wanted one from high school (came out in magazines in late 89), and got one as a present to myself about a year after finishing my degree and getting a job. I have had this z since about 98, and it has a mod list as long as my arm, even though its not evident in the photos (bigger injectors, turbos, and on and on)....here are some additional pics of it...some older, some more recent:

Not sure how much the z makes/made. I hurt the engine and need to yank it this winter......the turbos on it have made from the high 400s to low-mid 500s to the wheels on others dialed in engines.....but I have no dyno for the car, so who knows.

I was drag racing a terminator Mustang (03 Cobra) and was putting the ass whup on him, when I lost power about 110 mph or so.....bummer.

That's a beautiful engine bay, nice work. Good luck with the motor.

*By NO means saying the 300zx is not prettier than the GT-R, after having had a chance to ride along in a GT-R on the Auto-X course.... omg, I worry about needing new pants everytime I think about it.

I still pine for the GVR4, coz I almost had one for my first car. A 91, still remember the prod number: 1803 of 2000 made that year.

I'm very glad I didn't get it, because it had a terrible case of crank walk. Damn DSMs.

I'll bet you have a lot of fun working under the hood of that Z32 ;)

And please tell me your Legend is a 6spd...

The z is nice under the hood, but no, not to work on.....pretty tight under there, even with a LOT of reductions due to electronic boost controller, EGR removal, and such......

Sorry, the Legend is a slushbox......got it for a daily driver, and trip car. It fits the bill, even though a 6 spd would be cool.....I still like it, honestly. Very good cruiser....

Those are nice cars! My favorite wheels too! If only they weren't so expensive. But then more people would have them and they wouldn't be as cool.

Very nice. You remind me of my buddy who at one time had three 323 GTX's.
