Amazing what a difference in ride height those wheels make.

The white wagon (yeti) has some weird ass blown struts on her. rides like a land yacht. takes speed bumps @ 50mph like nothing.... Handles like a blimp?
but damn it drives through 2-3 foot drifs like nothing!

got the daily driver out of the ice tonight. Took awhile to get it actually onto the street. Back and forth, back and forth. Summer tires FTL! but finally got it out and into the driveway.

Dam, You have a Legacy for every occasion.

Took the WRX rims off & put a 195/65-15's on '91 SS tire wheel combo on the Wife's OBS yesterday. It is actually pretty dang high with this ballon of a tire on stock struts/springs but handles decently & rides like a Rolls Royce!

My OBS is not really moving even with Front & Rear Clutch type LSDs due to a slipping clutch (Exedy stage II thick ceramometallic 3 puc), a locked- center diff, & its ultra low Tein Coilover ride-Height.

When I get a free second I plan on slapping on a ACT clutch, V2 WRX center diff, a set of stock struts/springs, & skidplate - then I should be ready for the snow too!

Finally stuck!

High centered it, snow about 12-14" deep behind the shop. Dug a little bit and got it out, turned around and back in....

ha! nice, was the snow really packed? If you get stuck trying pulling the hand brake gives it a LSD action. The deepest my car ever went was pretty well covering +3/4 of the door and it was pretty packed snow as well!

Ive high centered twice this year. other than that she goes any where. Pass 4x4s and vehicles with chains in the ditch all the time. All the traction in the world wont help a clueless idiot.

I think a lot of SUVs just suck balls in the snow period. I drove a Durango that was, besides one of the worst vehicles I've driven, including old buckets, garbage even in the rain. Every time I drive in the snow, I see SUVs stuck, unable or barely able to get traction on hills, or spinning the rears at lights. I even followed a new GMC whateverthefuckSUV in snow the other day and my Mazda with high-performance all-seasons (kind of an oxymoron, but they're actually not bad tires) seemed to do better—that thing was all over the place and he seemed uncomfortable at a slower speed than me. Stupid vehicles for stupid people.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Doug- Surprised that doesn't just float on top of the snow w/ those tires!

Steve- Stupid vehicles for stupid people, indeed. You're doing you're part to have them restricted to their own lane, right?

While wide, they have awesome traction and however they do it, they do not keep shit in the treads!
