I got the Stage 1 ECU from Revtronix, Mike was also nice enough to even put it on my car.

We went around the block, and the difference is noticable.

I will throw my car on the dyno and do some back to back pulls and post them here for you guys.

I'll also hook up AFR and Boost so I can post those up as well.

Have been running the ECU for about a week now, and no issues or whatsoever.

Stay tuned!

yeah I've been realizing something about my fuel economy.

I've been flooring it way more now.

I got the math sorted out.

it's about a liter per minute. haha.

DON'T EVEN ASK :)

oh yeah and, I've driven a lot of WRX and STIs. I think the way the car is, it's definately faster than a stock wrx or even a lightly tuned one.
(dyno plots coming shortly) give me couple of days, need to get rid of some of the cars in the shop.

Question: does this chip remove the "learning" ability of the ECU, i.e. major changes in altitude, temp conditions, etc?

Hey Onur, any news on the dyno numbers yet?

The chips keep all the factory functions, nothing is disabled. There's no reason to turn off the adjustments.

Got the engine out tonight, going to put it on the stand tomorrow and start the tear-down. I'm pretty frozen now. Even with the heater on, snow is not melting in the garage!

Got an update from Revtronix & Mike says the user programable chips are not too far off!

On the fly tuning, datalogging, wideband O2 sensor, & methanol injection controlling are some of the possible features with these chipsl!!!!

I'm assuming the programmable chip will be on par with the pricing we've seen so far. Obviously it will be more to account for the additional time that has gone into the R&D.

But I can say with pretty damn good certaintity I will be in, particularly if it can do the meth. inj. controll as well.

This will be simply incredible!!!!

Please keep us posted.

I think they are aiming for a price-point in the $350 range for the programmable chips which is NICE, but not set in stone.
I just e-mailed about a possible group-buy, but will have to wait for Mike's response on a go/no-go on that.

They have also completed the MAP decoding of a EJ20G Z4 260PS stock ECU that I actually asked Mike to have loaded on my programmable chip as a base MAP.
He plans on creating a forum where MAPs can be shared between users.

I'm being a real pain in the ass right now with the 1000 questions & e-mails I sent to Revtronix, but they have responded in a professional manner to all of my silly questions.

$350 for a programmable chip - very nice.

I'm glad to hear that you've had as much communication with Revtronix as you have. From the reports of others on the BBS and yours, it really sounds like this new to us company has their act together.

Do keep us posted and know that I'm very interested in the group buy.

So, your gonna share the answers right? So we won't have to ask 1000 more times.

I'm up for a group buy on a programable chip if it is available before I get bored and change cars again.

Just looked @ my e-mail & Mike said a group buy sounds like a good Idea + A base map on the programmable chip is possible (I'd think these would be either one of the ready to go ej22t stages or the Z4 EJ20G MAP loaded onto a programmable ej22t chip).

998 of my 1000 questions were about getting EJ20G Maps on a SS Chip.
The remaining 2 answers were posted above!

Will the programmable chip still work with the subaru select monitor, or in my case the awesome graphical Vgr3 monitor?

I've been watching this thread for a while, and it just keeps getting better. I honestly never thought I'd see anything like this being developed for our old-school Legacies. Sooooooo cool!

Hopefully the programmable chip will be out by the time I get my motor together, if not I'll wait!

I am very interested in this product! I have a Link ecu in my 98' and it'd be great to get a lot of the same capabilities for this price. Just Let us know when they're ready for a group buy, and I'll be all over it!

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while but I ended up selling my Legacy to Revtronix. Just too much work for me as I already had a few projects on the go.

It seems like they want to go ahead with the user-tunable chip first because it's tough to find test vehicles locally with the exact mods that people want. What I can say is it will be USB-based and will allow editing the maps while the engine is running.

The Select monitor will still work, but you probably won't use it when you can datalog at USB speeds over 100x faster! I found the select monitor often freezes up at full throttle when you log more than 1 parameter. Don't know if anyone else noticed the same issue.

Sorry to hear you gave up the Leggy but glad it went to a good home.

My desire for the select monitor port to still work is because of my Vrg3 designed real-time graphical display. I can't record but I can do real-time monitoring of all the ECU parameters in the car and would like to keep that ability.

Sounds though like that won't be a problem and this chip is heading to where it needs to be :).
