Alright, I have a very quick question, which I just need some confirmation on. Im replacing the auto in my 91 ss, and since its so difficult to track down these trans anymore, I was wondering if it would be a direct bolt in from any other automatic subaru (assuming that I have the rear diff form the matching tranny).
So would it be possible to use anything from a 91 legacy L transmission, all the way up to say a 01 RS transmission? Even possibly one from a wrx?
Thanks

You can use some of the newer AT's, but there's some minor things that don't make them a direct bolt on.
An At from a 92-94 Legacy n/a is a direct bolt in, and you don't even need to change the rear diff since it's the same.
