RS RA ECU Fault Code (strange one)

[subaru_liberty_awd]

A friends RSRA is displaying a strange fault code "5 short flahes" in
addition to that the engine seems to be limited to 4500 RPM and the
fans run as soon as the eninge is on even if it is stone cold. He
needs the car to compete in 72 hours.
