EJ22T stroked to 2.5?

Post by 93GCsedan »

i will be stroking my 2.2 with 2.5 crank and aftermarket 2.5 rods but i am stuck with what to go for pistons. So was wondering if it was possible to bore it to the 2.5L's bore and use forged 2.5 pistons. I am wondering if the cylinder walls will be to thin? Any input will be appreciated.

I've seen them sleeved but my guess since it's 2.6mm larger bore would require a .100 overbore which is huge and would force you to sleeve with Sti pistons. Wisecos 22t work but the sti setup is also 1mm shorter so you're looking at thinner head gaskets with 25 rods and crank to say the least. You're best bet for that setup sti rods and crank would be the wisecos and deal with the 1mm shorter stroke with a thinner hg.
