You mean a blockage in the pressue going to the clutch?

I don't see how that would happen. They feed through a pipe about 8mm in diameter. Inside the trans should be spotless. There should not be anything in there that could block the flow.

what about 17 years of metal shavings and junk buildup? I mean we wont know until I open the tranny, but the inside of the tranny is not spotless. I guess theres no real point in arguing about what could/couldnt clog or cause the problem until i actually find it myself.

Ha. I'm not trying to argue, just help you understand how they work.

The accumulated dirt you mention will not be big enough to cause a blockage.

Good luck with it.

Any further progress on this? Is this trans similar to the one in my 97 Legacy? (It sure looks like it!) If not, can someone point me in the direction of a forum for the 97 Legacy?

If the shaft actually in the transmission broke, wouldn't it make some sort of clicking noise inside the tranny? I am wondering if this is what is wrong with my 94 SS. I am hoping it is simply the valve body stuck. I get a power light telling me duty solenoid c. So I would expect torque bind, but I wonder if it can be other problems?
