Ok, i've sourced my intercooler. It now sits on my floor of my room,
waiting for me to come up with a way to install it. I've got some
pictures of what I got with it here:

Ok, now I figured that if we put our creative minds together we could
come up with some solutions to my problems. I've got some theories,
but lets see what you guys can come up with. Keep in mind I dont
want to spend much more on the system right now when answering these
questions.
1) I need to connect my US Spec turbo outlet to the overseas spec
intercooler inlet.
2) Not only do I need the pipe for #1 but I need to find a way to
hook up the air bypass valve to that too.
3) Wiring/Switch ideas for the water pump. I've got some plans but
i'd like to somehow make the pump do the 2 speed thing that it's
capable of. On low speed it takes 28 watts on high it gets 50 watts.
Other than those I dont think i'm going to have any problems. If you
know of something I may trip over besides these please let me know!
One last thing, there's a link at the bottom of the page with info
about the air/water system for those of you with not too much
background on it. Ok lets see the ideas flow!

Don't have too much creative to offer Andy, only whatever comfort you may derive in the knowledge that you are not alone in your cooler fit problems.
Yeah the stock turbo outlet orientation is a real bummer. I thought I was going to bolt in my chiller and go, till somebody pointed to the turbo outlet. There are at least two ways to go. One way is to make some ducting work from the stock turbo outlet to the cooler inlet. It might be necessary to cut down the cooler inlet so there is more room for the ducting to squeeze in and work. I didn't like that option. I prefer to take the other path, and find a turbo that will work without carving up the cooler.
Since the cooler is Subaru factory equipment, it stands to reason, there will be a Subaru turbo and intake manifold combo that will work. I didn't say it would be sitting in your nearest friendly Subaru dealers stockpile. You might have to spend an equal amount of time to locate what you need that you spent scoring the cooler.
And the perspective of the picture of your intercooler radiator makes it look humongous. It looks more like a pic of your engine radiator. The stock intercooler radiator is something like 18 x 14 inches. Is it just the way the picture is framed, or do you have something other than stock?
