1-3/4 to 1-7/8 header tube diameter before turbo
2-1/4 to 2-3/4 exhaust system diameter after turbo
High flow cats and mufflers mandatory
Range of uncertainty is due to different answers given from info provided by different sources (formulas, charts, graphs)
Primary goal is to increase low and mid range torque (2500 - 4500 RPM) for street driven application. Top end should improve too, though not as much as with a system designed for max power. If goal is achieved, result will be a car that is quicker than one that may be faster (if you can relate to that).
I believe stainless is more resistant to corrosion but is more difficult to weld, and more expensive. It's looking to me like a good way to go for headers is trade off the extra price for stainless, and Jet Hot Coat regular steel inside and out. Not only do we regain corrosion protection, but also retain heat inside the tube, which maintains exhaust gas velocity and lowers radiated temp on the outside. That's worth a little free extra HP. For the rest of the exhaust from the turbo back, I think stainless is more desirable from a durability perspective.

Larry......definitely keep us informed about your exhaust stuff. I'm looking for info on how to size the exhaust for my car. Problem is.....I have an interest to turbo my car.....so I don't really want to do exhaust twice.....I could use a new muffler is pretty crappy.......I'm just not sure what to do....
