donuts in an awd car rock! i made a wrong turn today, so when i went to turn around i ended up in a construction site. i had fun; then i noticed the steel pipes sticking out of the ground all over the place and stopped. when i left i noticed a cop sitting across the road from where i had been. shit... he pulled me over and gave me a warning. i feel bad for him. he drove a ford. :(

come to think about it, that's the third time in two weeks i've been pulled over by a cop..... would have been a fourth but he had to make a u-turn, the roads were winding and i knew a shortcut. :) only one ticket though... and two warning. i'm a safe driver but when i can, i have fun with my car because i love it so much. I think cops need subarus and they'd be in better moods!

since this spun (pun intended) from donuts to cops does anyone have a recommendation on a radar detector? (whistler, cobra or escort) thanks.

A very cool sidenote:

my brother and I were walking around London one day on
vacation and heard those amusing euro sirens. I turn
around and what to my eyes see? A london cop car
screaming down the street. The cool part...it was an
impreza turbo (~217 hp). The cop pulled into a
driveway and the two officers inside got out and took
off. I just walked around the car in amazement. Very
cool sighting, not to mention probably the coolest car
to drive as an officer of the law.

Did they stop to let it cool down for 30 seconds before jumping out of the
car?

The bes thing about being a cop with a subie is that you could actually get
up to speed in one of them.. London's traffic for normal people is horrible.

Dood... join your local chapter of the SCCA Performance Rally.
RallyCross and Autocross are way more fun than doin aimless donuts in
a parking lot. And the best part... it's perfectly legal :)

I've seen Impreza turbo cops around too. Other interesting cop cars I've seen include Jaguar S type, Merc E Class, Scooby Legacy BD and Forester, BMW 5 series. In Nottingham they had a whole squad of Impreza Turbos! Why they got all these flash cars??

We in Oz experienced this. We had WRX's for a while but they soon got rid of
them because they were to small in the front and the speedo was out. I live
in the state of New South Wales but don't know what happened in other
states. I think Victoria still has them.

Not that it is a super car or anything but some of the
