Ej22 cranks.. all the same?
Im in the process of rebuilding my ej22t that died due to oil starvation (oil pump failed). It ate up the #2 rod bearing, rod and crankshaft.
I picked up a crank from a member of this forum several weeks back and finally got around to assembling the bottom end today, only to find that when cyl #1 is on BDC the crank is actually hitting the piston and stops rotating. It seems my original crank may have been machined to clear the piston whereas this one has not. What could this crankshaft possible came out of? all my rods are facing the correct direction and the pistons are in their original locations, along wrist pins and even the circlips. Im a little bit puzzled right now lol.
Any ideas would be very helpful.

I tried rebuilding an ej22t that was starved of oil as well.It got really hot but figured it would be an ok seasoned block.Long story short the block had many unacceptable problems. When aluminum gets hot enough it starts to move, and doesnt always come back.Though i must say your problem sounds more crank or con rod related.
94SS.Wiseco forged pistons,TD04,TMIC,WALBRO 225,440's,3" all the way, revtronix stage 2,enough other crap to fill the internet.

Okay the engine is in, trying to figure out a no-start condition.
Ive got the 3 plugs for the main harness plugged in by the battery, and also the 3 plugs by the pitch mount plugged in, and the body ground cable by the starter is good. I jumped the black connector by the steering column and the CEL just flashes constantly, never ending. Does this mean there are no codes stored?
Thanks!

Correct. That's supposed to be the "All Clear" sign.green91 wrote: the CEL just flashes constantly, never ending. Does this mean there are no codes stored?
Does it crank but just not turn over or what? Have you checked to make sure you're getting spark and fuel?
