The P/S on the Turbo Legacy is supposed to be engine-speed sensitive
type. I find the steering quite stiff at any engine speed, however.
I do not notice any variable assist at all. Also, there's minor leak
from the P/S pump altough I do not notice a loss of P/S fluid. Is
there something wrong? The steering is too stiff for stop and go NYC
traffic.

Is my Power steering broken?
The steering is stable. But the assist may be too low, causing the
steering wheel to be too stiff. It is stiff at all engine speed.

You definitely have a problem with the power steering, it's pretty
light on mine even with 225 rubber up front.

Is my Power steering broken?
Does your steering effort vary with engine speed? Mine doesn't or at
least it is unnoticeable. In the early 90's Honda, P/S variable
boost is very obvious. I wonder if it is the way Subaru variable
power steering is.
